They'd argued for a week about what the dress should look like.
Back and forth through the plexiglass divide at Arkham Asylum visitor's centre.
"I'm thinking 'Hollywood Siren' something long and classic..."
"I did that last year."
"Okay so we'll go for the fairytale look! Give you something princess-y but with a bit of edge."
"Too obvious. It doesn't feel right." Snow shifted uncomfortably in her seat, eyes darting around the concrete wall. Her couturier sighed, her perfectly cut dress suit a sharp contrast to her clients lurid orange get up and scratched another design out of her sketchbook.
"Well we have to do something! The next round is in less than a month. Tell me when the first time you remember wearing a dress you loved and we'll go from there."
Tugging distractedly at the curled wire connecting their two plastic phones she tried to remember. As the years since her 'accident' drifted by remembering anything but the end of her past life became harder and harder.
"I was 8 I think... youngish definatly. We were going to some kind of event but my parents didn't want to tell me what. My mother bought me a new dress for it though, black velvet trimmed in white lace with a shiny black bow for my hair." She smiled as the memory unfolded. "It was perfect, I was so happy about it but for some reason that made my parents sad. I just wore it that once and then they put the dress away in the back of the closet and I never wore it again."
"What was it for?" She asked, mouth parted slightly as she sketched.
"A funeral." Her smile turned grim "My parents didn't want to explain death to an 8 year old but eventually they had to. I just remember after they told me wishing someone else would die so I could wear that dress again..."
The designer tore the hastily scribbled dress from the pad and slapped it triumphantly against the glass. Grinning at her own ingenuity.
"This will be the dress."
A slow smile stretched across her features at the proferred idea.
Oh gosh there was so much more I wanted to write! About the actual event, her runway walk, the other contestants - so many things! Hopefully if I get time I will add to this but I figured I better submit this now of risk missing the deadline!
I went through about seven million designs but this is the one that stuck It's kind of a 40s black widow style dress with a strong silhoutte and some Snow-Trademark-Details
The Axe was just supposed to be a prop but I have a feeling someone switched things up backstage so Snow could be armed right now
If you're interested the song I imagine her walking to is this:
Thanks so much hun! My fingers are crossed she does okay - even if she fails completely though I've had so much fun designing and learning about all the other OCs it's been totally worth it!
Visitor: "her dressmaker.."
Guard: "........."
I love it!
